Frequently Asked Questions

Are birth weekday personalities scientifically verified?

Birth weekday personality traits are based on traditional beliefs passed down from ancient times and are not scientifically verified facts. The concept that each weekday is connected to specific planets originated in ancient Babylon, spread through Rome, and then worldwide. Use this information as a fun self-reflection tool rather than an absolute personality indicator.

Is the Chinese Zodiac calculated by lunar or solar calendar?

This calculator uses the solar (Gregorian) calendar to determine the Chinese Zodiac. Traditionally, the Chinese Zodiac changes with Lunar New Year, but modern calculations often use January 1 of the solar calendar. For precise zodiac determination, check if you were born before the Lunar New Year of your birth year. For example, if born February 10, 1988, and that year’s Lunar New Year was February 17, traditionally you’d be a Rabbit (1987’s zodiac).

I was born on a zodiac boundary date. Which sign am I?

If you were born on a boundary date between zodiac signs (e.g., March 20-21, the Aries/Pisces boundary), your exact sign may vary depending on your birth year. This is because the precise time the sun moves through constellations differs slightly each year. Those born on boundary dates may have characteristics of both signs, known as being on the “Cusp.” This calculator displays zodiac signs based on commonly accepted date ranges.

Where is my entered birth date stored?

Your entered birth date is stored only in your browser’s local storage. It is not transmitted to any server, collected, or visible to others. This storage feature exists solely to automatically load your date for convenience on your next visit. Clearing your browser’s cache/cookies will delete the stored information.

How is the elapsed time calculated?

Elapsed time is calculated from your entered birth date to today’s date. “Days” shows the exact number of days, “Weeks” counts in 7-day units, “Months” uses the average month length (about 30.44 days), and “Years” shows your age considering whether your birthday has passed. For example, if today is January 15 and your birthday is March 1, since your birthday hasn’t passed yet, last year’s age is displayed.

How far back is the weekday calculation accurate?

This calculator uses the Gregorian calendar (our current calendar) to calculate weekdays. For dates after the Gregorian calendar was introduced in 1582, accurate weekdays are provided. Calculations for earlier dates (Julian calendar era) are possible but may differ from historical context since different calendar systems were used. For typical use (births after the 1900s), it is perfectly accurate.
