Calculation basis and notes
Weekday calculation is based on the Gregorian date you enter. The script parses the date as a local calendar date in the browser, reducing weekday shifts caused by time-zone conversion.
The Chinese zodiac is shown by Gregorian year for quick reference. In traditional use, the zodiac year changes around Lunar New Year, so birthdays in January or early February may differ. Zodiac signs are also based on common date ranges, and boundary dates may vary by source or year.
Useful situations

- When you want to save a quick note of days lived or current age
Frequently asked questions
What basis is used for the birth weekday?
The calculator interprets the entered Gregorian birth date as a local calendar date and calculates the weekday from that date. It does not use time of day.
Are the weekday personality keywords scientifically proven?
No. The personality keywords are reference content based on traditional symbolism and popular culture. Use them for fun or conversation, not as a fixed judgment of personality.
Is the Chinese zodiac based on Lunar New Year?
For quick checking, this calculator displays the zodiac by Gregorian year. Traditional zodiac years change around Lunar New Year, so January or early-February birthdays may need a lunar-calendar check.
How is a February 29 birthday handled?
If the birth date is February 29 and the target year is not a leap year, the next birthday display uses February 28 for the simple D-day calculation.
Is my birth date saved on the server?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. The date may be stored only in browser storage to reduce re-entry, and it is not sent to the server or tied to an account.
